Members Stand Hospitality Facilities
The Victorian Racing Club commissioned Bates Smart, the architects behind Federation Square, Crown Melbourne and the Royal Children’s Hospital to design the replacement for the historic members’ grandstand at Flemington Racecourse. The ‘entertainment venue’ includes three restaurants, eight bars and a rooftop garden. Eatscape delivered the design of the production and restaurant kitchens, along with bars of the new $120 million Flemington Club Stand.
The existing kitchen at the Flemington Racecourse has had an extensive overhaul, to make it an effective production kitchen, capable of catering for the many thousands of customers that attend the busy race days and VRC functions. New equipment, such as temperature-controlled plating area with conveyor plating, e-water throughout and a layout that highly impressed the on-site caterer.
